Trump against Bad Bunny and Green Day: “They sow hatred”
Many welcomed the announcement of the Super Bowl musical guests with enthusiasm… but not all. Donald Trump harshly criticized two of the artists competing for the event: Bad Bunny And Green Day.
In an interview with the New York Post, President Trump said he attended last year’s Super Bowl, but this year he won’t be at Levi’s Stadium on February 8 because “it’s too far away.” “They appreciate me,” Trump continues, “I would go if it were a little shorter.” But distance and duration are not the only reasons for his absence in 2026: Trump also said he was “opposite” in the presence of Bad Bunny and Green Day, who have openly criticized him for some time.
“I think it’s a terrible choice. It does nothing but sow hatred. Terrible.” He had previously called the decision to have Bad Bunny headline “crazy” and said he had “never heard of” the rapper, while one of his advisors confirmed that ICE would be present at the “shameful” concert.
Before news of the Super Bowl performance broke, Bad Bunny told fans he wouldn’t be touring the US due to fears of ICE agents raiding his concerts. In response, the organization Turning Point USAfounded by the deceased Charlie Kirkannounced the organization of an “All American Halftime Show”, to be held on the same day and at the same time as the NFL halftime show, featuring Sting ready to perform.
The Puerto Rican superstar will perform in the prestigious halftime show of the 60th Super Bowl; Charlie Puth will sing the American national anthem and Brandi Carlile will perform “America the Beautiful,” while Green Day will play the opening ceremony.
