What Mahmood’s new song is about
A new song full of Middle Eastern sounds: that’s how Mahmood surprises the public at the Willy Chavarria fashion show in Paris. The two-time winner of the Sanremo Festival presents an unreleased song in the French capital which should be called “Moët” and that will be part of the next album.
Accompanied as per tradition by a dance troupe, Mahmood sings a piece focused onmeeting between two people: The protagonist then runs away “as if I had been caught stealing”. A noir atmosphere accompanies the escape: “I’m calling my friends, the headphones don’t work, I don’t even have anything to smoke. A bitch in front with the dog shouts at me what the fuck are you looking at”.
Other family and past memories emerge (“On the mountain the cane rises, I see my mother and father again”) but above all theimpossibility of love (“don’t you see that the more you talk about love the more we go to whore”).
The release date of the new album is not yet known, but the singer-songwriter has another project underway: “Le cose non didetta”, the title of the original song for the new film by Gabriele Muccino, in theaters from January 29th.
