Tropico with Dat Boi Tee, “Gangsta Story” Released
The interpretation, the words and the melodies of Tropico, the solo project of Davide Petrella, and the sound atmospheres of Dat Boi Dee, the hip hop producer: the result is “Gangsta Story”, a song in Neapolitan language that marks the first official collaboration between the two artists and which is available on the radio and on all digital platforms from Friday 13 September via Dischi Numero Uno.
“Dat Boi Tee and I have known each other for a while and we were already fond of each other, but there had never been a chance to really work together,” says Tropico. “We belong to two apparently distant worlds and have different backgrounds, but we discovered that we are very similar: whether you come from songs or rap, in the end nothing changes, all that matters is making good music. When you stay curious, mixing ideas, genres and sounds becomes much easier. And in fact ‘Gangsta Story’ was born in the studio very spontaneously, following the flow of creativity that day. As happens with all good things: they write themselves a little”.
“Being in the studio with Tropico is an experience,” says Dat Boi Dee. “When he twiddles his necklace, you know he’s preparing something that will make a difference. We found ourselves in the studio on one of those lazy afternoons, both of us looking for new stimuli. It was love at first track. We share so many passions and you can find them all in every detail of the new single. ‘Gangsta Story’ is a unique song, just get caught up in the groove and your head will move on its own.”
