Lucio Battisti, “That Great Genius” is back
After last year’s first edition, “Quel gran genio” is back: the three-day event in Milan dedicated to Lucio Battisti will be held from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th September, with a preview on the evening of the 26th.

THURSDAY 26 SEPTEMBER
9:00 PM – Mina E Battisti: The Duet and Other Stories (concert)

Concert dedicated to the historic duet between Mina and Lucio Battisti which took place at Teatro 10 on 23 April 1972. The group Avanzi di Balera will perform all the songs of the medley in their entirety, interspersed with contributions from Enrico Casarini, author of the book “Il duetto Mina-Battisti” (published by Minerva Edizioni).
FRIDAY 27 SEPTEMBER
10:30 am – Anima Latina: just an album of songs? (conference)
CPM Auditorium (free admission)
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the release of the album “Anima Latina”, a conference will be held moderated by Francesco Paracchini and featuring speakers Renzo Stefanel, Marco Masoni and Paolo Jachia, who will discuss the history and importance of this cornerstone album of Italian music.
8.45pm – “The History of Number 1” (conference)

Meeting to learn more about the history of Numero 1. Moderated by Rosario Pantaleoeo.
SATURDAY 28 SEPTEMBER
from 2.30pm – Marching Band parade
Travelling event (free entry)
The marching band Magicaboola Brass Band will parade around performing Lucio Battisti’s songs, along an itinerary that will wind through Via Marghera, Piazza Wagner, Via Washington and Corso Vercelli.

Carlo Poddighe will bring to the stage a show that will give the opportunity to listen to Lucio Battisti’s songs in a new and alternative way. The artist from Brescia has developed a unique technique in Italy that allows him to play electric guitar, bass drum, snare drum, hi-hat and keyboard at the same time.
SUNDAY 29 SEPTEMBER
3:30 pm – “Lucio for others – Flowers scattered in Italian music” (concert)

Closing show of the festival: the greatest hits written by the Battisti and Mogol duo for other artists will be performed.
