Thom Yorke: the soundtrack of Daniele Luchetti's film is released
In January it was revealed that Thom Yorke he composed the film's soundtrack “Confidence” Of Daniele Luchetti (Read here), a transposition of the novel of the same name by Domenico Starnone.
Now XL Recordings announces that the soundtrack of “Confidenza” signed by Thom Yorke will be released digitally on April 26while the vinyl and CD will follow on July 12th.
At the same time as the release announcement comes the video for the single “Knife Edge“, with the sequence of the film starring Elio Germano And Federica Rosellini adapted by the editor Ael Dallier Vegaand a b-side track titled “Prize Giving“.
The soundtrack's introductory song, “The Big City“, was teased by Yorke in February as part of his playlist for The Smile for the “BBC 6 Music Artist in Residence” series.
That of “Confidenza” is not the first soundtrack of an Italian film that Tom York has edited. In fact, it follows that for the remake of “Suspiria” Of Luca Guadagnino of 2018, with the song “Suspirium” which received a Grammy nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
The soundtrack of “Confidenza” was produced by Sam Petts-Davies (Suspiria, The Smile Wall Of Eyes), and sees Petts-Davies and Yorke working again with the London Contemporary Orchestra along with a jazz ensemble that includes Robert Stillman and member of The Smile Tom Skinner.
In 2019 Yorke contributed music “Motherless Brooklyn” Of Edward Norton and in 2022 he wrote two original songs for the series finale of “Peaky Blinders”.
Thom Yorke has recently been touring with the The Smile (Tom Skinner, Jonny Greenwood, Thom Yorke), who released their second studio album “Wall Of Eyes,” the follow-up to her 2022 debut album, “A Light For Attracting Attention”.
The Smile will resume their European tour in June and will make a stop in Italy on 22 June at the Medimex in Taranto, on 23 and 24 June at the Roma Summer Fest at the Cavea of the Auditorium Parco della Musica.
