The Pixies have released two new songs
“You're So Impatient” and “Que Sera, Sera” are the titles of the two new songs released by the Pixies. The release marks the release of new music from the band after two years, i.e. since the release of the album “Doggerel”.
According to a press release picked up by NME, the two tracks see the group create “a macabre and cinematic picture of American pop culture”. “You’re So Impatient” has been described as “a two-minute, nine-second zombie attack on the mall,” and Black Francis said in the note: “It sounds like a slightly comedic suburban cultural moment: there this guy, there's this girl, there's this tug-of-love dynamic going on, the backdrop is the mall. And even though the mall is rough, it's also a very zombie-like, horror-movie setting rock'n'roll.”
The other song released is a Pixies cover of the song originally performed by Doris Day, “Que Sera, Sera,” which the group transformed into “a dark folk tale, retold through the lens of a science fiction monster epic.”
