Slipknot working on new music: “There’s a lot of material”
New creatures of genius are about to be born psychosocial by Slipknot? It would seem so. The new drummer Eloy Casagrandewho joined the group at the beginning of 2024, has let slip some indiscretions.
Speaking to “Drummer’s Review”, he said: “We’re working, we’re making new music.” While not providing specific details, he added: “Since I joined the band, we’ve been working on new ideas. We keep exchanging guitar riffs and drum beats, so we’re always on the beat. We’ve also been doing some jam sessions. At the moment we have a lot of material. We just have to sit down and put it all together, start playing, and that’s it. It’s already happened. It will happen again. So, it will surely come new material”.
In May, the guitarist Jim Root he had stated that he had completed “six arrangements” for a new album, despite previously stating that he had “almost no inspiration”. Slipknot haven’t released any new studio material since 2022’s “The end, so far.” So far, all that’s been said is “Long may you die“, a song recorded shortly after Casagrande’s entry during a session with the new entry behind the drums.
