Slash: “There’s a new Guns album.” And Axl pays homage to Gaza
Seventeen years after “Chinese democracy” in 2008, Guns N’ Roses’ return to the recording scene seems closer than ever. There has been talk for some time about a new album from the band led by Axl Rose and Slash but now this album seems right around the corner. This can be understood from the words of Slash, who in an interview with Guitar World magazine said:
There is so much material that it’s just a matter of having the discipline to sit down and get to work.
There is a “but”:
The problem with Guns, in my experience, is that you can never plan ahead. You can never sit down and say, “Let’s take this time to do this.” Every time we did it, it all fell apart.
Reassuring fans, however, the guitarist added:
It will come. I know it’s coming because we’re all thinking about it. It will happen when it’s supposed to happen.
Meanwhile, the band makes its closeness to the people of Palestine felt. Last night during a Guns N’ Roses concert in Bogota, Colombia, Axl Rose collected a Palestinian flag from the audience and showed it to the spectators. On the flag the writing: “I don’t need your civil war”.
