Slash revisits Fleetwood Mac for his first blues album

Slash: “The Maneskins? Phenomenal.” And about the new Guns album…

From the new Guns N' Roses album, Axl and Slash's first together after over thirty years, to its blues roots. Passing through pop music and Maneskin. Slash granted a long interview to Il Messaggero on the occasion of the release of his solo album “Orgy of the damned”, which has just arrived in stores. However, the 58-year-old Guns N' Roses guitarist did not only talk about the album which saw him pay homage to blues music, which has always been a great passion of his, together with friends such as Iggy Pop, Brian Johnson of AC/DC and Demi Lovato, but it is told in the round.

Speaking about Demi Lovato, who sings a surprising version of the Motown classic “Papa was a rollin' stone” on the album, Slash said:

Passed with full marks. She did great. But I didn't doubt it, knowing her (the two had already collaborated last year for “Sorry not sorry”, ed.). (Of the new generation pop stars) I like Billie Eilish and Katy Perry. I think they have great pop songs in their repertoires. But I don't spend a lot of time listening to pop.

The guitarist confirmed that with Axl and his companions they have started talking about a new album of unreleased Guns N' Roses songs, while a new album with the Conspirators will be released by the end of the year:

Yes, I confirm it. We're talking about it. But I won't say anything else because otherwise we'll end up just talking about that (laughs). I'll make a new record with the Conspirators by the end of the year. I don't know how to sit still.

Slash has announced his intention to return to Italy next year to present “Orgy of the Damned”. And speaking of the Maneskins:

They opened our show in Rock in Rio, Brazil, two years ago. Phenomenal.
