Shakira will sing the official World Cup anthem, “Come on, come on”

Sixteen years after “Waka waka”, Shakira returns to sing the official anthem of the World Cup. “Dai, dai” by the Colombian pop star will be the song that will serve as the ideal soundtrack to the World Cup competitions, scheduled from 11 June to 19 July between the USA, Canada and Mexico. The song will be released on May 14, but Shakira shared the first seconds of the song on her official social channels and someone immediately wanted to interpret that “Come on, come on” of the title as a dig at the Italian national team, which in addition to not having managed to qualify for the World Cup, also suffered the mockery of the rumors of the alleged repechage when Iran’s participation was in the balance. In reality, there is no dig: the text brings together some expressions of encouragement from various countries, from Italian to Spanish, passing through English. «Come on, come on, we go, dale, ale, let’s go», sings Shakira.
