Ringo Starr announces his new album
Ringo Starr has revealed details of his new album “Long Long Road”which will be released on April 24, 2026. This is the second project created with the manufacturer T Bone Burnettafter the previous “Look Up” published in January 2025.
The drummer and singer has just released the first single from the album, “It’s Been Too Long”, performed together with Molly Tuttle And Sarah Jarosz. The album contains ten songs and sees the participation of artists such as Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow And St. Vincent.
According to Starr, working with Burnett was also a fundamental element for this new work: after “Look Up“which he still loves to listen to, the current project was born almost spontaneously. The title “Long Long Road” symbolically reflects the long career and artistic path of the former Beatle.
The album has its roots in American country music, but then expands into a mosaic of styles that recall Starr’s musical legacy and influences. Among the tracks there is also a song by Carl Perkins — an artist that Ringo had already tackled in the past with the Beatles.
Burnett explained that he had great admiration for Ringo’s talent as both a musician and a singer, and that he wanted to surround him with young talent to bring new energy to the project. The first collaboration between the two, the album “Look Up”, had an excellent response from the public and critics: it was Ringo’s first country style album after five decades and reached the Top 10 of the US charts.
