Shot and recorded in July 2024, the film shows the band in an unusual, unique guise, a concert that Homme had dreamed of for almost twenty years. A ladder selected among the repertoire songs of the Qotsa, each reworked in order to adapt to the context of the catacombs. The result is an interpretation of the band in its most intimate, unplugged form, but literally surrounded millions of human remains: “The largest audience in front of which we have ever played” says Joshua Homme
The catacombs of Paris are an underground vast ossuary of 320 km under the city. With a base composed of several million bodies buried in the eighteenth century, the remains are largely exposed and many walls are built with skulls and bones.
