Queen plays in the trailer for ‘Stranger Things 5’

A new trailer for the fifth season of the television series was released today ‘Stranger things’. The next season will close the series, it will be broadcast on Netflix starting from November 27th and is made up of eight episodes. The song acts as a soundtrack to the images of the trailer “Who wants to live forever” of the Queen.

After the fourth season of the series, set in the 1980s, performed a true recording miracle in 2022, bringing the song by Kate Bush “Running up that hill” thirty-seven years after its publication in 1985, the spotlight on the musical choices of the serial’s production suddenly turned on.

About a year ago we published an article in which we hypothesized what could be the candidate song to take over the song from Kate Bush – which however will also be present in ‘Stranger things 5’ – considering that the last chapter of the series takes place in 1987.

We got a first answer to the question today by watching the trailer. “Who wants to live forever” is a song from the twelfth studio album Queen “A kind of magic” published in June 1986. The song, written by the guitarist of the English band Brian Maywas released as the sixth single from the album in October 1986. At that time it was part, with other songs of “A kind of magic”from the soundtrack of the film starring Christopher Lambert And Sean Connery ‘Highlander – The Last Immortal’.
