Powerwolf: the German band arriving in Italy
There are a few days left until the concert that i Powerwolf will be held at Alcatraz in Milan on 14 October 2024 and which has long been sold out.
The band was born in 2003 in Saarbrücken, Germany, composed of singer Karsten Brill (“Attila Dorn”), guitarist Benjamin Buss (“Matthew Greywolf”), bassist and rhythm guitarist David Vogt (“Charles Greywolf”), keyboardist Christian Jost (“Falk Maria Schlegel”) and drummer Roel van Helden (who replaced Stèfane Funébre and Tom Diener). In 2005 they released their first album “Return in Bloodred”. Nine more albums followed; the last one, “Wake Up The Wicked”, was released in April 2024, a record that debuted at the top of the German charts. It is the fourth album to reach this milestone. Their discography also includes four live albums.
Their power metal (musical field where they are considered a reference band) has strong ties. textual and visual, with religion. In 2009 Powerwolf released the album “Bible of the Beast” where they reread some biblical passages in a heavy metal key. But the group’s vision is not anticlerical or negative towards religion.
Accompanying them on the Italian date are i Pisans Wind Rose (heavy metal band inspired by fantasy) and the HammerFallSwedish power metal band.
