Olympics, Ghali plays Rodari (but it is not announced)
A small mystery on the margin of the opening ceremony of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. As is known, Mariah Carey, Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini were expected among the performers. AND Ghali, veteran from the controversies of the last few days: the rapper said in a post that he had been denied the right to sing the Italian anthem and to use the Arabic language, only to then receive criticism from colleagues such as Rocco Tanica (“but lower the crest?”)
There was therefore great curiosity about what he would bring to the stage. In the second part of the ceremony, Ghali performed“Reminder”, a poem by Gianni Rodari against the war, in different languages (Italian, French, English) accompanied by a dance troupe.
In the RAI news, Ghali was never seen in the foreground (only from afar), nor mentioned in the incoming or outgoing commentary. Indeed, seen live, it was almost impossible to recognize, with group or overhead shots. This was much noticed and commented on on social media: the Rai commentary was entrusted to the director of RaiSport Petrecca, who entered the race to replace Auro Bulbarelli, guilty of having “spoiled” the active role of president Mattarella (actually the protagonist of a video with Valentino Rossi).
At present, the official channels of Milano Cortina and the various broadcasters involved in the broadcast have not yet released videos of Ghali’s performance. Here, however, is the text of “Reminder” by Gianni Rodari.
There are things to do every day:
wash, study, play,
prepare the table,
at noon.
There are things to do at night:
close your eyes, sleep,
have dreams to dream,
ears so as not to hear.
There are things you should never do,
neither day nor night,
neither by sea nor by land:
for example, war
