Oasis announce a break: “It’s time for reflection”
The Oasis reunion tour which started last July 4th and came to an end after 41 dates in the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, Australia and America ended on November 23rd in Brazil. After months of rumors and hopes in which fans awaited the announcement of new dates in countries left out of the tour, at the end of the concert in Sao Paulo, the Gallagher brothers’ band made it known that they are now taking a break.
“And so it went,” we read at the beginning of the “Wonderwall” group’s message, which then takes up a vitriolic article by journalist Simon Price: “‘The most damaging pop-cultural force in recent British history’ has found its way into the hearts and minds of a new generation. From Gallagher Hill to the River Plate, from Croke Park on the banks of the Royal Canal to the City of Angels, the love, the joy, the tears and the euphoria will never be forgotten.” The post, signed Oasis, then concludes:
“There will now be a pause for a period of reflection.”
