Bob Dylan dusts off a folk ballad in concert after 34 years
After almost 35 years since the last time, Bob Dylan decided to revive a traditional folk ballad during his recent concert.
Engaged in the British and Irish dates of the 2025 “Rough And Rowdy Ways” tour, the Duluth singer-songwriter played two concerts at the Gleneagle INEC Arena in Killarney. During the first show staged on November 23rd, Dylan presented a live version of “The Lakes Of Pontchartrain”, which had been missing from his live setlists for almost three and a half decades.
According to what was reported by the US edition of “Rolling Stone”, the musician had performed the song for the last time at Holman Stadium in Nashua, New Hampshire, on 6 July 1991. Bob Dylan’s live debut of the cover, however, took place in 1988, during a concert in California of his “Never Ending Tour”.
