Mötley Crüe perform their version of the Beastie Boys.

Mötley Crüe have released a cover of the hip-hop classic BeastieBoysFight for Your Right”, or for completeness (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!).

The recording is taken from a new three-track EP, “Cancelled”, which will be released on October 4th. The EP also includes “Dogs Of War”, released as a standalone single in April, and the title track.

The band says so in a statement.

It was really cool to get into the studio and work on some songs together,” “What started out as a couple of demo ideas turned into this EP produced by Bob Rock. We can’t wait to get back in the studio soon to write more new music.

Mötley Crüe previously performed their version of “Fight For Your Right” during their “secret” show at London’s Underworld club in 2013. The performance took place on the eve of their co-headline concert with Def Leppard at London’s Wembley Stadium, in front of 90,000 people.

“Fight For Your Right” is the second album by Mötley Crüe with John 5, who replaced longtime guitarist Mick Mars in 2022 and it seems that the new addition is fitting in well.

“John is a fantastic guitarist,” said the frontman Vince Neil at Classic Rock earlier this year. “The people love him. The band loves him. He’s basically made me a better singer. I can just concentrate on my singing. He knew all the songs before we even hired him. He can play anything. He’s an inspiring and creative guitar player and he’ll definitely be involved in the new music. It’ll be really cool to hear his ideas.”
