MMW24: who is Chyky, live at “GenZ Stage”
Also for the 2024 edition of the Milan Music Week, Rockol presents for the third year the “GenZ Internship“, an evening of live music with 7 emerging artists of the Italian music scene, without distinction of genre, in one of the most famous venues in Milan.
The event is realized in collaboration with TuneCore Italia and is scheduled for Thursday 21 November at 9.30pm at the Ronin.
Among the artists who will perform are Montag, Anna Castiglia, The Snookers, Klaus Noir, Ethan, Niveo and Chyky. Let’s get to know them more closely, one by one.
Chyky
Davide Calvanese, aka Chyky was born in Naples in 2001. He began his journey in the world of music with the first freestyle battles in 2014, immediately finding, despite his young age, a wide consensus in the Campania underground rap scene. He moves away from battles to dedicate himself to studio production in around 2020, and then releases his first official EP in 2022, “Comfort“, produced entirely by Bijei with whom he will begin an ongoing artistic partnership.
On November 8th Chyky then releases the EP “Portfolio”, composed of three tracks and produced largely by Davide himself, with the exception of the third track entrusted to the production of Visions. Chyky explains the concept of the project like this:
“‘Portfolio’ is my 360-degree way of expressing myself. I don’t limit myself only to music, but I take care of everything that revolves around my work: from image creation to content management. Every track and every aesthetic choice in this project the aim is to tell who I am as an artist and as a person. It is a true celebration of creativity and freedom of expression”.
