Fleetwood Mac announce an official docu-film on social media
Unfortunately, no Fleetwood Mac reunion has been announced. Since the inauguration of the two new official social accounts dedicated to the “Dreams” group, fans had immediately hoped for a miracle. However, on the new Instagram profile dedicated to the historic band, news has recently appeared that will satisfy the public.
It was announced through a post and an archive photo of the five complete Fleetwood Macs the arrival of a documentary about the group. Taking the title of their classic album, 1977’s “Rumors”, the message reads:
“It’s not a rumor. From director Frank Marshall, this Apple Original Films documentary will take you on an epic journey through the history of Fleetwood Mac, the band that shaped an entire generation.”
The project was presented in a press note taken up by “Classic Rock” as the “first fully authorized Fleetwood Mac documentary“. Financed by Apple Films and directed by Frank Marshall, known for working on “The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart”, “Carole King & James Taylor: Just Call Out My Name” and “The Beach Boys” , the docu-film about the band “Go your own way” is still without a title and a precise release date.
“I’m fascinated by how this incredible thing came to be story of enormous musical success“, the director said in the statement: “Fleetwood Mac somehow managed to merge their often chaotic and almost operatic personal lives into their real-time tale, which later became legend. This will be a film about music and the people who created it“.
Nicholas Ferrall, CEO of production company White Horse Features, added: “Fleetwood Mac are a musical phenomenon, their chemistry is almost beyond comprehension. White Horse is grateful and honored by the extraordinary opportunity to produce a documentary that dives deeply into both the talents of each individual band member and the magic of Fleetwood Mac as a whole. And to do it with Apple’s support and reach is truly wonderful.”
According to a statement from Apple, the docu-film will include new interviews to the living members of Fleetwood Mac and others unreleased footage. The project will therefore explore “how the band’s trials and tribulations, personal resilience and musicianship have come together to create songs that have stood the test of time and are lasting masterpieces. According to the statement, the documentary will therefore “take fans through the highs and lows of their brilliant career, illuminating the exceptional ingredients that each member brought to the unusual chemistry of the band, a musical union that has sold more than 220 million records all over the world”.
