Le Orme, the reissue of “Felona e/and Sorona 2016” on vinyl
The reprint of. comes out on November 29th “Felona and/and Sorona 2016”revisitation of the concept produced by Gian Piero Reverberi. The reprint will be released in the double Italian/English version, just like then. The album is available in double colored vinyl (for the first time) and double CD versions, on the Hi_QU Music label and Warner Music distribution.
2016 marked the 50th anniversary of the founding of The Footprints and to celebrate that milestone the band paid homage to one of the most important albums of their career. “Felona and/and Sorona 2016” it was a rereading – with new arrangements and new sounds – of the original 1973 album. Even then Aldo Tagliapietra, Tony Pagliuca And Michi Dei Rossi they recorded an English version of the album for the Charisma Records label, the historic record company of Genesis And Alan Parsons Project. The operation was successful, so much so that the following year Le Orme undertook their first tour of the United Kingdom, also playing at the Marquee Club in London.
The album tells the story of two imaginary planets, Felona and Sorona, one constantly illuminated by light, the other lost forever in darkness, which never manage to cross their orbits, only to then reverse their respective natures at the end of the suite. The album opens and closes with two long musical sessions (“Suspended in the incredible” And “Return to nothingness”), in which synths, organ and keyboards immerse the listener in a dreamlike atmosphere of cosmic lyricism.
“Felona and/and Sorona 2016” had been totally resonated, and the voice of Fabio Trentini stands out above all in the English version, whose lyrics were edited by Peter Hammilleader of the Van der Graaf Generator. The lineup was the classic one with three musicians on stage: Michi Dei Rossi (historic member of the band) on drums; Michele Bon (with Le Orme since 1990) on keyboards, MBIII organ, piano, synth, Alien guitar simulator, backing vocals; Fabio Trentini (with Le Orme from 2009 to 2017) on vocals, bass, 12-string guitar and bass pedals. The cover was taken from a drawing by the cartoonist Giuliano Piccininno whose works have given rise to other covers of The Footprints.
