Nick Cave nominated for Australian Music Prize

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have been shortlisted for the 20th Australian Music Prize for their latest album, “Wild God” (read the review here) published last August.

It’s the fourth time Nick Cave was nominated for the award established in 2005 which is awarded annually to the best Australian album by the Australian Music Prize Ltd. Previously the 67-year-old Warracknabeal-born musician had been nominated for “Skeleton Tree” (read the review here) in 2016, “Ghosteen” (read the review here) in 2019 and “Carnage” (read the review here), album signed together with

Warren Ellisin 2021.

The nine albums in the running for the award were chosen from a list of 46 albums, selected from 600 released by Australian artists in the last year. Other candidates include Amyl and The Sniffers with “Cartoon Darkness” And Hiatus Kaiyote with “Love Heart Cheat Code”. The winning album will be announced on December 4th. The other musicians competing for the victory, in addition to the ones already mentioned, are Grace Cummings, Rowena Wise, Dirty Three, Dobby, Audrey Powne And Kankawa Nagarra.
