Jane’s Addiction: They stop but release a single

THE Jane’s Addiction have quietly shared a new single titled “True Love” after announcing their hiatus earlier this week.

After the reunion of the original lineup consisting of Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery Jane’s Addiction have released the single “Imminent Redemption“, their first new music together in 34 years.

They then embarked on a series of concerts in the UK, including an intimate return concert at London’s Bush Hall, and in Europe (including an Italian date at the Tuscan festival La Prima Estate), before embarking on the US leg of the tour with Love & Rockets.

However, during the Boston concert, tensions on stage began to rise, leading Farrell to yell at Navarro, before interrupting the show by shoving the guitarist. The band later apologized to fans but canceled the remainder of their U.S. tour dates and announced a hiatus.

At the same time as the announced stop, the band continued with the already scheduled release of a new single entitled “True Love“, released on Spotify but without any promotional activity.

“True Love“, which made its live debut on stage in London earlier this year, opens with an instrumental followed by a soothing vocal melody from Farrell, recalling the first time he fell in love with someone.

While previewing the track at their first show with the original lineup in decades at London’s Bush Hall, the band teased to fans that “True Love” would be released at a later date. And the time has come, after all.
