Fabrizio Paterlini: the songs already released on social media are now available digitally
One year after its release of ‘Riverscape’ – which was followed by the Deluxe edition in March 2024, on the occasion of International Piano Day – Fabrizio Paterlini presents ‘Summer Stories’the new album coming out digitally on September 27th on the Memory Recordings / MAST / Believe label.
Recorded this summer, ‘Summer Stories’ contains fourteen new compositions that Fabrizio has created over the last few weeks during the hot summer mornings. The songs have already been presented by Paterlini on his channel Instagram and are now collected in a single digital album.
Even for this new job Fabrizio Paterlini he recorded the various compositions live and, with practically no additional work, shared them via social media with listeners just as they were written, in a natural and direct creative flow.
Over the years, I have always tried to bridge the gap between the ‘creative flame’ and the work to be published as much as possible, to the point that, now, in solo piano I publish almost exclusively the first recording of an idea, of an intuition. I rarely work it, what you listen to is what came to me while I was sitting at the piano. With all that this entails, even the inevitable imperfections that a ‘good first time’ can bring.
Add the composer
Inspiration is free when you don’t have any recording projects in the near future, so you can dare and combine the proverbial unpredictability of a modular system with piano composition, in my case certainly more regular and ‘reassuring’. There is also room for purely synthetic moments: ideas and inspirations born in front of a synthesizer, far from my natural habitat, the piano seat.
The idea of this album, which is made up of fourteen brush strokes of color recorded on warm summer mornings, is to bring those who listen to me even closer to my feelings, to my being a composer at this moment. I really hope that, through this experiment, listeners will discover creative moments of my production that can, in turn, be a source of inspiration in their daily lives.
