How Robert Trujillo met Ozzy Osbourne

The bassist of Metallica Robert Trujillo he told the Toby Morse podcast One Life One Chance how he met and got to know him Ozzy Osbourne.

Trujillo explained that he had met the singer of Black Sabbath in 1991 while he was recording the first album of his then band, the Infectious Grooves, “The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move…It’s the Infectious Grooves”. OzzyOsbourne he was at the same studio, Devonshire in North Hollywood, to record his 1991 solo record “No MoreTears”. As Trujillo explained, Ozzy had a habit of wandering around the studios talking to the other musicians in the recording studios.

Speaking about Ozzy Trujillo she said: “He was agitated at the time. So, that’s how I met him because he kept sneaking into our studio to hang out with us.” He did it so often, as the Metallica bassist continues, and it happened that: “Then, the guard would come in and say to us ‘Have you seen Ozzy?’ We were like, ‘No, man…’ and he was like, ‘Oh, we can’t find him anymore.'”

Trujillo continues: “All of a sudden he’d pop out, ‘Don’t tell them I’m here!’ Those were good times. I ended up singing on a song called “Therapy,” which was fun, and that’s how I got an audition call a few years later when they were looking for a bass player. So everything falls into place.” Robert Trujillo he ended up playing bass for OzzyOsbourne from 1996 to 2003, when he left to join the Metallica.
