Franz Ferdinand: “The Human Fear” is out, then a concert in Italy

THE Franz FerdinandAlex Kapranos (voice/guitar), Audrey Tait (drums), Bob Hardy (Bass), Dino Bardot (guitar, backing vocals) and Julian Corrie (keyboards, guitar, backing vocals) – have announced the release of their new studio album, “The Human Fear”for January 10th. The first single from the album is “Audacious”.

Talking about the album, the frontman of Franz Ferdinand Alex Kapranos said: “Making this record has been one of the most exciting experiences of my life, but it’s called ‘The Human Fear’. Fear reminds you that you’re alive. I think we’re all addicted to the adrenaline rush that it can give us in some way. The way we react to fear shows how human we are. So here’s a series of songs that seek the thrill of being human through fears. Even if you might not notice it on first listen.”

The video of the first single “Audacious” It was directed by the Scottish band’s long-time collaborator, Andy Knowlesand was filmed at Glasgow’s Barrowlands, the venue for many of the band’s concerts. Speaking about the song, Alex said: “It’s about having a bold response when you feel the fabric of existence unraveling around you. Being brave, being contrary. Looking over the edge into the eternity of non-existence and saying, ‘Aye! To hell with it! Not today, thanks!'”

While the director Andy Knowles commented on the video: “After hearing ‘Audacious’ for the first time, it immediately felt like a song that needed a celebratory video. I wanted to build on the playful approach we took with ‘Curious’ in 2022, contrasting some of life’s darker moments with a burst of fun, looking at things through an ‘audacious’ lens.”
