Dave Grohl: a dig at Taylor Swift:

Foo Fighters also warn Trump against using one of their songs

It is not the first time that artists have denied consent to Donald Trump for the use of their songs during his election campaign. Among others, they have already protested in this regard, Rolling Stones, Rihanna, Adele And Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. They have recently been joined by Celine Dion And Beyonce (Read here And here) and the news of the last few days is the use of a fake prop with a photo of Taylor Swift (See here)

With regard to Beyonce the case is curious. The pop star had immediately given his consent to the use of the song “Freedom” (from the 2016 album “Lemonade”) in the election campaign of the Democratic “tandem” Harris / Waltz (to which he also donated 4 million dollars). A few days ago the same song was used as the soundtrack of a video published on the account X of the Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung. The notes of the song accompanied the images of the Republican presidential candidate getting off an airplane.

Beyonce’s team protested and the post was removed.

For a few days now, the long list of artists who have warned against the use of their songs in Trump’s commercials has been joined by Foo Fighters.

During the recent rally in which the Republican candidate received the support of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (of the notoriously Republican family) the notes of “My Hero” of the band of Dave Grohl.

When a Twitter account tagged the band and asked if they had “allowed Trump to use ‘My Hero’ to welcome RFK Jr. on stage,” the band responded bluntly: “No.” “Foo Fighters were not asked for permission, and if they had, they wouldn’t have given it,” a spokesperson for the band later said, adding that proceeds from the use of the song on that occasion will be donated to Kamala Harris and Tim Walz’s campaigns.
