Farewell to Caterina Valente, the musician was 93 years old
The singer and actress died last September 9th at the age of 93 Catherine Valente. The artist’s official Facebook announced the news with the following message: “Caterina Valente, Grammy-nominated Italian/French singer, guitarist, dancer, has passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home in Lugano, Switzerland. She was 93 years old. In accordance with the deceased’s wishes, the funeral was held in the utmost privacy and there will be no further ceremonies or memorials. We ask that you respect the privacy of family and friends at this very delicate time.”
His period of greatest success was in the 1960s and 1970s. In 2019, he gained popularity again when the song “Bongo cha cha cha” was included in the soundtrack of the film ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’. In the wake of the revival in May 2021 a house version remix was produced by Disco Pirates and a second remix curated by the British duo Good boys.
