Emily Armstrong recalls the first sessions with Linkin Park
In a special episode of “Women Who Make Q101”, Lauren O’Neil of the Chicago Q101 radio station interviewed Emily Armstrongthe singer of Linkin Parkwith regard to his path, the creative process and the experiences that have shaped his career.

In the interview, the Frontwoman pointed out how a musical connection has developed with its new bandmates of the Linkin Park. Emily explained that, although they never found themselves in the same social circles in the past, when they started writing again in the studio for the second time, they began to discover many similarities that had not previously emerged. Over time they discovered that they have an incredible number of shared experiences, such as collaborations with similar artists or events they had lived, which approached them more and more.
This process meant that Emily felt more and more connected to her new companions, leading her to conclude that this was the right direction for all of them. In the interview, therefore, not only Emily’s musical path, but also the importance of human and artistic connections in the world of music was highlighted.
The singer described the feeling of “synergy” he felt, defining it almost as a destiny that was being made. Emily found surprising how, although they had never met first, everything seemed to align perfectly at a time when both sides were looking for something significant.
Recall that Emily (born in 1986) was born and raised in the context of the Church of Scientology whose parents are important members and therefore she received a typical education from scientologists.
After the first youth musical experiences in the name of grunge but also of the classic and folk rock, in 2005 he founded i Dead Sarawhere he initially had the double role of bassist and singer. Preceded by a long live activity, the band arrives at the record debut in 2012 with the album of the same name, from which the single “Weatherman” is extracted which collects a fair success.

The intense live activity even if accompanied by a limited record production allow Emily Armstrong to collect attention and consents on her vocal and artistic qualities that allow her to collaborate with consolidated musical realities.
And it is also for these reasons that the Linkin Park decide to call it to resume the live and the band’s live activities, which had stopped after the death of the frontman in 2017.
