Ed Sheeran Surprises Taylor Swift On Stage At Wembley
Last night, August 15, Taylor Swift returned to Wembley in London for the final European dates of her “Eras Tour.” The pop star, who has already performed three concerts at the London stadium since last June, really surprised fans during the evening’s “Surprise Songs” segment, which features the artist performing different songs at each stop.
While the general structure of the show followed the same schedule as the previous dates, including the two at the San Siro Stadium in Milan (here is our story), in the penultimate act of the concert Taylor Swift invited Ed Sheeran to perform with her on stage. Together, the two artists proposed a medley of three songs that saw them perform live two of their collaborative singles “Everything has changed”, originally included in the pop star’s 2012 album “Red”, and “End game” from 2017’s “Reputation”. The British singer-songwriter then closed his participation with the notes of his hit “Thinking out loud”.
“He’s one of my best friends in the world,” Swift told the crowd of 92,000 at the end of their mini-set. “He works so hard, he’s on tour right now, and he’s probably tired, but he still wanted to come and play for you.”
Last night’s show marked the return of the “Cruel Summer” singer to the stage after canceling her concerts in Vienna last week due to a terrorist threat and following the deaths of three young girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance event in Southport, near Liverpool. The pop star will perform at Wembley for four more shows scheduled for August 16, 17, 19 and 20, before the Canadian leg of the tour.
