Ed Sheeran beats Taylor Swift. He is the most played of 2023

Ed Sheeran was named the most played artist of 2023, beating out stiff competition from Taylor Swift. The Suffolk singer-songwriter and guitarist has topped the charts as one of the most listened to artists in the UK, with his music frequently played on radio, television and in public spaces. This ranking was drawn up by the music licensing company PPL, which collected data relating to the period January-December last year.

Taylor Swift placed second, a notable jump from tenth place the previous year, thanks in part to the announcement of her “Eras Tour” and her latest album “The Tortured Poets Department”.

Ed Sheeran expressed gratitude for the recognition, thanking his team and the other artists he works with.

Dua Lipa she was named the third most streamed artist, likely thanks to her song “Dance The Night” from the Barbie soundtrack. Calvin Harris took fourth place. Other artists in the top 10 include David Guetta, Sir Elton John, Coldplay, Tom Grennan, Harry Styles And Madonnawho announced his “Celebration” tour.

PPL also shared the most played songs of 2023 in the UK. The most popular song was “Flowers” Of Miley Cyrus. Artists such as P!nk, Jonas Brothers and Niall Horan also appear in the Top 10 most listened to songs.
