Clown hurt himself on stage and people vomited when they saw him

The percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan revealed, in a ‘question/answer’ session with the US magazine Vulture, what was the worst injury he had while playing with the Slipknot.

Clown He said he had many injuries during his performances, but the worst of all was when he tore a muscle in his arm, causing severe pain, the aftermath of which still bothers him today.

“The one that really wrecked me was when I tore my bicep in half on stage by hitting a barrel with a sledgehammer. If you know anything about a bicep, it’s basically two wires, one on each side that hold the muscle in place, a a bit like rubber bands that connect to the shoulder.”.

The 55-year-old American musician continued: “I tore both of those fuckers open. So my bicep was actually on my forearm. It just fell off and my skin fell off with it. People threw up when they saw it. I had surgery surgery and I’ve lost 25% of my arm. I’m going to get something on the top shelf of the fridge, I think I have it, and then whatever it is will just fall off. It hurts. I have swelling on the right side where this screw was soluble. Of all the injuries, that really is a daily reminder.”

TO Clown he was also asked what in his opinion is the best unreleased material from the band, he responds by mentioning the mysterious album “Look Outside Your Window”originally recorded during the sessions of “All Hope Is Gone” from 2008. “Someone recently brought up the “Look Outside Your Window” album. It was a work of art that Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Sid Wilson and I made in 2008. We came up the hill from the studio where we recorded “All Hope Is Gone,” in Perry, Iowa. Nobody even believes that it exists, or that it will ever be released just a completely different approach in my mind. I recently approved all the graphics and also worked very hard on mixing and mastering them.”

At the beginning of the year, speaking with Andy Hallhad said that the only reason the album hadn’t been released yet was its timeless quality. “It could have been published 10 years ago, 10 years from now, today, and so on.”

Due to repeated delays the album became an object of ridicule even within the band itself. “I kind of put my foot down because I’m tired of hearing from everyone, not the fans, but the guys in the band who are in it. It’s been so long now that they just laugh. And I laugh too, but I think we’ll release it this year.”

The Slipknot they are expected in concert on June 17th in their only Italian date at the Ferrara Summer Festival.
