Last month i Cigarettes After Sex have announced their new LP titled “X's” (released on July 12th) simultaneously releasing the first single entitled “Tejano Blues” (Read here).
At the same time, the announcement of their next world tour also arrived which includes concerts in some of the prestigious locations, such as Madison Square Garden and the O2 Arena in London, with further dates in Korea, India, Singapore, the Emirates United Arab Emirates, Taiwan and South America to be announced later and with a single Italian date scheduled for 1 November 2024 at the Assago Forum (MI).
Today the band releases “Dark Vacation“, second taken from the new album. The song mixes memories of the European tour – running around Prague, drunk and dazed – with his most recent experiences, which fall apart through neighborhoods lived with an ex-love.
As the leader of the band Greg Gonzalez says about the new single:
This song is about a love story I had a few years ago. We went on tour together and were lucky enough to visit all these wonderful places, having fun, especially at the beginning. But as the tour went on, everything started to fall apart and eventually we broke up. I found myself wishing that we could somehow see all the beauty around us before it was too late…
Since the publication of “Tejano Blue“ Cigarettes After Sex have caught up 20 million plays of the single, which was featured in 43 Spotify New Music Friday playlists. I am currently the 250° most listened to artist in the world on the platform, with over 25 million listeners monthlythe.
