Bruce Springsteen under threat: security strengthened

Bruce Springsteen is reportedly facing an increase in death threats during his current “Land of Hope and Dreams Tour”, strongly characterized by political stances against Donald Trump’s administration. This was revealed by Steven Van Zandt, historic guitarist of the E Street Band, in an interview with Daily Mail. “This tour is different than usual because of the high level of security,” he explained. “There have been many threats, including death threats. It always happens to some extent, but this time the situation has increased”.

During the American dates, Springsteen often publicly criticized Trump, speaking on topics such as the war in Iran and ICE’s migration policies. Over the years, the relationship between the two has been marked by continuous mutual attacks: the musician defined Trump as “corrupt, incompetent and a traitor”, while the president had dismissed him as “a dried prune”. According to Van Zandt, the political climate surrounding the tour pushed the organization to drastically strengthen security measures. “The FBI and other authorities are closely monitoring the situation” he said. “We want the fans to be safe and feel safe.” Springsteen’s “Land of Hope and Dreams Tour” kicks off April 1 in Minneapolis and concludes May 30 in Philadelphia.
