Asia: live album “Asia – Live In England” coming soon

The English rock supergroup ASIA on March 13th he will release a new live album entitled “Asia – Live In England”. To celebrate the announcement, the band released a live version of their classic “Heat Of The Moment”.

The album was recorded live during the first of three nights at
Trading Boundaries in Sussex, April 2025
. On the album the band performs their first album from 1982 in its entirety
“Asia”
among their other successes. The group is now composed of
Geoff Downes
(keyboards),
Virgil Donati
(drums),
John Mitchell
(guitar) e
Harry Whitley
(bass and vocals).

Geoff Downesthe only original member of the group formed in 1981 commented: “‘Heat Of The Moment’ has an interesting story behind it. It was actually the last track that John (Wetton, ed.) and I wrote for the “ASIA” album, and it ended up being the opening track and first single. We put it together in one afternoon. I had the verse, John had the chorus, even though it was a 3/4 country number with guitar. We fixed everything and bingo, that’s it! A couple of days later we wrote the middle section, rehearsed it in the studio and recorded it directly with the band. Ironically, it remains our most famous song today. Without it, I doubt the album would have been as successful, so I’m very grateful to have contributed to the creation of ‘Heat Of The Moment’. It’s still a very fun song to play live and I hope it brings back memories and gives pleasure to listeners and fans around the world for many years to come.”

The singer Harry Whitley added: “Playing ‘Heat Of The Moment’ live is always an incredible experience. It’s always electrifying, and this recording was no different. It was a thrilling evening and it was thrilling to revisit ASIA’s entire catalog in three nights. We can’t wait for fans to hear this album live and the others that will follow…”

Virgil Donati about the song he stated: “This song contains decades of history – every note, every moment – we hope listeners feel the same passion we put into it night after night.” Lastly John Mitchell: “‘Heat Of The Moment’ is a song very dear to me, close to my heart. Having performed it countless times over the years, both with John Wetton’s solo band and with John and Geoff in ICON, from the quiet, introspective acoustic version at The Borderline to the full band version in front of 12,000 people in St. Petersburg, it is both an uplifting anthem and a quiet tonic for the soul that never fails to warm the mind.”

Geoff Downes he further said: “Listening to the entire first ASIA album brought back unforgettable memories from 43 years ago. In the studio with John, Steve, Carl and, of course, the great Mike Stone on production. I think we knew at the time that we had made a good album, but we couldn’t have foreseen the enormous success that followed, which made the band a household name around the world, and particularly in America. That said, it was the result of hard work and of a commitment from everyone involved. So when I had the opportunity to make the album live with the current and fantastic lineup of ASIA and in collaboration with Frontiers Music, it was an obvious choice.”

He continued: “I remembered how full of amazing songs and performances the album was. When we recorded it again earlier this year, I was drawn to some of the less featured songs and realized how important they were to the album as a whole, plus of course the standout songs like ‘Heat Of The Moment’, ‘Only Time Will Tell’ etc. We did this for you, the fans, we hope you really enjoy hearing these songs performed live once again in their entirety and may you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed creating and playing them.”
