Alice in Chains: the tour after the illness of the drummer canceled
After the last minute cancellation of the concert scheduled for Thursday evening, 8 May, in Connecticut due to a “non -lethal medical emergency” that hit the drummer Sean Kinney, the Alice in Chains decided to cancel all the dates of the spring tour in the United States, including participation in the festivals.
In a new press release, released yesterday and taken up by “Consequence”, the band explained: “After a careful evaluation and following the advice of health professionals, we made the decision to cancel the next performances in the Festival and the Alice in Chains headliners shows”. And again: “Even if we were all impatient to return to the stage, at this moment Sean’s health is our absolute priority. Although the situation requires immediate intervention, the long -term prognosis is positive. We sincerely thank you for your understanding and support right now”.
As already reported, Kinney had a medical emergency, of which, however, the details were not widespread, immediately after the Alice in Chains had concluded the soundcheck at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, where the historic band Grunge should have started a short tour in the United States.
The band had planned some concerts in conjunction with the participation in the “Sonic Temple” and “Welcome to Rockville” festivals. Now all these dates have been deleted, and there are still no updates regarding the expected participation of the group in the final concert of the Black Sabbath, scheduled for July 5 in Birmingham.
