the announcement of the withdrawal came yesterday.
“The injuries resulted in a hemorrhage. We will have to postpone some dates so we can give you the show you deserve,” Aerosmith told fans. But initial optimism was dashed by the results of the tests, which revealed that the injury was worse than initially thought: in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, Tyler had also fractured his larynx.
“He is receiving the best medical care possible to ensure his recovery is speedy, but patience is key.” Yesterday, then, the cold shower: “We have had to make a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision. We are retiring from touring. It has been an honor in our lives to see our music become a part of yours. In every club, on every big tour, and in grand and private moments, you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives.”
