Adam Sandler and George Clooney’s favorite records
There’s one album in particular that drives you crazy Adam Sandlerwho these days is promoting “Jay Kelly”, the new Noah Baumbach film in which he stars George Clooney.
The album that the Hollywood superstar can’t stop listening to is “Live Through This” by Holethe alternative rock group founded in 1989 by leader Courtney Love. He still remembers the first time he heard the album, released in 1994: “I remember I was on tour. I was doing stand-up comedy and that album had just come out. I was in the car and while I was listening to the first track I thought: ‘Oh, this is serious stuff’. By the second track, I thought: ‘Two out of two’. And then immediately after: ‘I think the whole album is going to be fantastic'”.
He says he went to see the band at a concert and met his “The Wedding Singer” co-star there, Drew Barrymore. “I saw Hole when I was in Missouri. I was having a comedy show, and at the end, a friend of mine said, ‘You should come to that theater. Hole’s here.’ And I thought, ‘Are Hole here? Let’s go.’
As for George Clooneythe Oscar winner chooses the classic of Beatles “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. “There’s not a bad part,” says Clooney, “the way we thought about things has changed and the music has changed. So when I hear those songs… it’s funny because my wife knows all the Beatles songs, but a lot of times it’s because someone else sang them. She’s like, ‘Oh, yeah, that’s…’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no, no. That’s the music of the Beatles.”
