A new accusation of violence for Diddy
The former director of the magazine Vibes, Daniel Smith, revealed in an article for the New York Times that in 1997 Diddy (Sean Combs) allegedly sent her death threats after she refused to show him the photos she would use for the cover before publication, in line with the magazine’s policy.
Diddy reportedly showed up at the Vibe magazine offices with two “collaborators” to look for the photos, and Smith was escorted out of the building for her safety. The next day, Diddy reportedly continued to be threatening to Smith, saying he would see her “dead in the trunk of a car.” After Smith’s lawyer intervened, Diddy reportedly apologized, but the subsequent theft of the servers containing the cover photos left Smith upset.
This new story comes at a time when Diddy is at the center of numerous allegations and lawsuits for physical and sexual abuse. In November 2023, singer Cassie filed a lawsuit against him for abuse, settling the lawsuit a day later. Two more allegations have since surfaced, one alleging that he drugged and sexually assaulted a woman and another alleging that he and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall raped two women in the 1990s. Diddy has denied all of the allegations, while Hall has not responded.
In early 2023, producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones sued Diddy for allegedly sexually abusing and hosting parties with sex workers and underage girls. Diddy called the claims “pure fantasy.”
On May 22, Crystal McKinney, a former model, accused Diddy of drugging and assaulting her at a Men’s Fashion Week event in 2003. Diddy has not responded to the allegations. Additionally, a former porn actress has accused Diddy of sex trafficking, allegations his lawyer has adamantly denied.
