A GoFundMe is underway for Richard Lloyd’s cancer (Television)
Richard Lloydguitarist of Televisionsuffers from bile duct cancer. A GoFundMe campaign has now been launched to cover the costs of treatment.
Co-founder of Television, guitarist of the group and fundamental part of the group along with Tom Verlaine, he is a rock legend, and now he needs the help of those who have enjoyed his music for decades, whether they are fans or other musicians.
As reported by Sean Seymour, Lloyd’s bandmate, the musician has several tumors, some of them dangerous. This means that he cannot be operated on right now, which has led Lloyd to be in the ICU seven times and face serious complications that are greatly affecting his health.
For this reason, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to obtain funds so that Lloyd and his wife can face the medical and family expenses that the situation requires, since both cannot work at their respective jobs due to the treatment.
At the same time, it seems that there have been problems with Lloyd’s royalties for a couple of years, which has made the situation worse. Luckily, people are responding and at the time of writing, about $68,000 of the $80,000 requested has been raised. Among the donors are musicians such as Patti Smith or Susan Tweedy (wife of Jeff Tweedy of Wilco).
