THE Thin Lizzy they held their first concert on February 13, 1970; the exact location remains a matter of dispute between the band and their first manager, but one thing is certain: it was in Dublin. Within a few months, the band released their debut single “The Farmer” for Parlophone, a copy in perfect condition can now fetch up to £1,000. After a concert in November 1970, the band received a record offer from Decca Records and the following February were already in London to record their first album with the producers Scott English And Nick Tauber. While traveling to London, Philip Lynott encounter John Peelwho, a few months later, would give the band an appearance on his show on BBC Radio 1 and remain a supporter for years to come.

The album was not very successful upon release, but the band did not give up and released the EP “New Day”this time produced by Tauber alone, in August of the same year. The band only achieved chart success at the end of 1972 with their rendition of “Whiskey In The Jar”a song that would haunt them for the rest of their career, but this 3-CD/Blu-Ray/4-LP set shows the fledgling band’s first steps on the road to stardom.
