Yes, a box set is being released for the thirty years of “Talk”
The Yes have announced that on May 24th they will release a celebratory edition for the album's thirtieth anniversary “Talk” of 1994. “Talk” is the British band's fourteenth studio album, it has been digitally remastered and will be released as a four-disc deluxe edition with bonus studio material and a previously unreleased concert at the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua from 1994, on limited edition double white vinyl and as a single CD.
“Talk”
was the third and final album released by the incarnation of
Trevor Rabin
of the band or, as they were called gods
Yes
West
. “It was just a beautiful moment for me and Trev,” says the singer
Jon Anderson
. “It was a very harmonious experience for me. When I listen to “Endless Dream,” it's a really great piece of music. It's one of Yes's great pieces of music that not many people know. It's beautiful. And “The Calling” I love. ”
“Talk”
it was one of the first albums to be recorded and edited entirely digitally, without using traditional audio tape: a revolutionary thing for the time, but the technology, as advanced as it was, was not without problems. In January 1994, Northridge in California's San Fernando Valley was hit by an earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale, and production had to be halted because the first Apple Mac computers they worked on were struck by the tremors. Just to put the differences between now and then into context,
“Talk”
in its entirety it took up 34GB of memory which today could be transferred in seconds.
The album was reissued as a Collector's Edition in April 2002 and in 2006 as part of the box set
“Essentially Yes”
, but it still remained a difficult publication to find. The 1994 tour would be the last one on which
Trevor Rabin
he would play with them
Yes
full time. “My regret is that I wish there was a live album,” he says
Trevor Rabin
“I wish we had recorded some shows properly, it's just a mix… but you can feel the energy.”
