The French band, originally from Mont-de-Marsan (in Gascony, a region between France and Spain) was formed in 2008 and is made up of Malcom (Laurent Lacrouts) on guitar and vocals and Phil (Mathieu Jourdain) on drums, both former members of Wolfunkind.

But the duo also goes beyond music. In fact, Malcon and Phil run a 15 hectare family-run organic farm, called “LOU CASSE”, located in Gascony. Purchased in 2013, the farm is self-sufficient and dedicated to the production of organic wheat and corn using free-range seeds. In addition, they raise gray geese and cultivate other plants and animals. Although they consider agriculture to be their main activity, the duo divides their time between the farm and music, dedicating six months to each of their two passions.

They work to apply the principles of Agroecology in their company and are committed to transmitting this knowledge to local children and the general public, for example by organizing conferences on the topic at the opening of their concerts. Their goal is to achieve a high degree of autonomy and independence, trying to do everything themselves and using what they have available.

Furthermore, they manage their own record label, “F*ckthebassplayer Records”, active since 2012 and dedicated to the distribution of Ter a Terre’s records, also produced by them. In addition to the farm and the music, the duo independently, together with trusted family and friends, handle concert bookings, advertising, recordings and sales of both their music and agricultural products. In this way, they manage to maintain a close link between their passions and promote a sustainable and self-sufficient life model.

Last November The Inspector Cluzo concluded a long world tour started after the release of their ninth studio album “Horizon” (2023), playing in the USA, Australia, Japan, Europe.

As for their style (the band sings in English) the French magazine “Les Inrockuptibles” defined it as a fusion between funk rock and heavy metal, note that the band does not have a bass player, and another magazine found hints of AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. In 2011, an article on the Art Rock festival described the duo’s style as funk’n’roll, halfway between the Red Hot Chili Peppers and AC/DC.
