What was Vasco’s guitarist doing with Counting Crows?

We mentioned it to you in our review this morning: at a certain point in the Counting Crows concert last night in Milan, there were 4 guitarists on stage: three were those of the band – David “Immy” Immergluck, David Bryson and Dan Vickrey – the fourth was Stef Burns, Vasco’s guitarist. It all happened in the encore, in “Hanginaround”. The icing on the cake of a memorable evening, but also an unexpected and unprecedented collaboration.

How did we get there? The guitarist himself explained it on Instagram, posting the video of the performance: he was invited on stage by drummer Jim Bogios, his friend.

Last night’s Counting Crows show was the only Italian date: in addition to the classics (such as “Hanginaround” but also “Mr. Jones” and “Round here”) in the setlist, the band included covers of Taylor Swift (“The 1”, used as the opening of “A long december”), Joni Mitchell and the Grateful Dead (“Big Yellow Taxi” and “Friend of the Devil” – the latter dedicated to the promoter Claudio Trotta).
