The song is titled “Punkrocker”. It is a song that the Stooges frontman engraved in 2006 together with the Swedish band of electronic music Teddybears. The song achieved discreet success in the USA and at the time it was also used as a sound comment for a Cadillac spot.

The Music Supervisor of “Superman” wanted to see a link between the lyrics of the song and the ending of the film, which ends with Clark Kent who tries to make peace with his past as an alien – as known to comic fans, Kal -El, this is the real name of the character, was born on the planet Krypton, but was sent to the earth by his parents to escape his destruction of his world – Earth. Even the protagonist of “Punkrocker” seems to live a life as outsider: “You see me guiding along the way, I don’t have a nice appearance”, Iggy Pop sings. And again: “I’m listening to music that you cannot hear”.

Released in the cinema only for two days, “Superman” – cost 225 million dollars, that is to say over 190 million euros – aims to become one of the most viewed films of the year. According to the estimates of The Hollywood Reporter, among the most authoritative and reliable newspapers of the American showbiz, on the opening weekend the film could collect 175 million dollars in the USA and over $ 1 billion worldwide. Who knows if the exploit of the film will make “Punkroker” a hit.
