Vasco: Modena is a candidate for the mega gathering of 500 thousand people

Vasco calls, Modena answers. After the post on social media with which the rocker from Zocca announced to fans that he wanted to stage a dream event in 2027 to celebrate his 50 years of career in front of 500 thousand fans, the city which already in 2017 hosted the legendary “Modena Park”, the event which saw Vasco Rossi perform in front of 225,173 spectators, an Italian record for a single event which will be beaten on July 4th by Ultimo con i 250 thousand of Tor Vergata in Rome, is a candidate to do an encore. It is the mayor of Modena, Massimo Mezzetti, who made it known via social media that «contacts have been ongoing for some time» between the municipality and the Blasco entourage: «I have already had the opportunity to express our desire to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vasco’s career in Modena, 10 years after the historic concert at the Ferrari Park – the mayor of Modena writes again, re-sharing the images of the 2017 concert – we are here, we are ready! There is no Modena without Vasco and there is no Vasco without Modena.”

At the moment no other details about the event have leaked out other than those that Vasco himself has anticipated, in a very cryptic way, on social media. The intention is to sing for “over 500 thousand people” by putting on a party “that lasts more than one night”. In short, a celebration spread over time (two days, rather than just one, like in 2017?) and perhaps even across space.

In 2024 the former mayor of Modena Carlo Muzzarelli took advantage of a blitz by Vasco in the municipality for the presentation of the book “Vivere/Living”, to launch an idea: «I think Modena can continue to daydream and perhaps realize a great dream. In July 2027 it will be 10 years since Modena Park. Then 200,000 or more people came in a single evening. We could celebrate the tenth anniversary with a big five-night party: 100,000 people for each evening, half a million people for Vasco. New emotions, new passions.”
