Vasco explains what rock is for him
Twenty-one songs in all, for a total of 99 minutes of music: Blasco has revealed the details of “Vasco live 2025: The essentials”, the live album from the rocker from Zocca’s last tourthe one that saw him perform in Italian stadiums this summer. The box set will be released next Friday, November 14th, in double CD, triple vinyl (numbered) and digital formats. The 21 songs that compose it have been extrapolated from the official setlist and are those that the voice of “Vita spericolata” defines as “essential”: those indispensable to enhance the concept of this year’s concert, the celebration of life. In recent days Vasco has published several posts approaching the launch of the project: one of these is interesting because it explains what rock is for him, and what it represents.
“Rock is also a way of understanding life…With the cultural domination of the Anglo-American empirethey brought it to us when they came to liberate us from the Nazi-fascists in the Second World War. We listened to it as children together with popular music. I chose him or he chose me. It was the musical language that best suited my anger and my artistic provocations. First I looked for my writing style. I detached myself from the songwriters, who I loved and with whom I had grown up. Using a minimalist style in the lyrics, my songs were not stories but flashes, images evoked with words. Over time I have learned to use less and less. Poetry with rock music. Incredible power”.
