The time has finally come to rediscover Cyndi Lauper

Cyndi Lauper celebrates induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Cyndi Lauper celebrated her induction into the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with a special performance, characterized by collaborations between artists of different generations. The show opened with a touching rendition of “True Colors,” during which Lauper invited the audience to sing along with her. Soon after, British singer-songwriter Raye joined her on “Time After Time,” the 1983 classic. The evening concluded with Lauper’s career-defining song, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” To give energy to the performance, Avril Lavignepop-punk icon of the 2000s, and the rap group Salt-N-Pepawho had already received an award that evening, sang the chorus together.

Behind the scenes, the drummer Gina Schock (Go-Go’s, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2021) and the keyboard player Lisa Coleman (former member of Prince’s band The Revolution) completed the lineup. Always a proud feminist, Lauper underlined the role of women in music: “Women like Aretha, Tina, Chaka, Joni and Wanda have made fundamental contributions to rock & roll. A success for one of us is a success for all”. Despite wrapping up a farewell tour this summer, Lauper isn’t abandoning the stage: she’s announced a residency in Las Vegas in April and May 2026, confirming that music remains a central part of his life.
