Universal Music Italia and FIMI together for Resilience Room

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day which occurs today, Friday 10 October, Universal Music Italia presents “Resilience Room – Mental Health for Creatives”, an Italian project dedicated to mental health in the creative world.

“An initiative that proposes a new perspective on mental health, not to cure but to protect”, explained – in a note – the Italian branch of the major: “The project is aimed at artists, authors, performers, those who imagine, create, produce, those who accompany, those who are in the spotlight and those who make the show possible”.

“Resilience Room” is a non-profit cultural association, conceived and founded by Fouzia Draoua, psychologist coordinator of the People Development area in Universal Music Italia: the project has the support and patronage of Universal Music Group and FIMI (Italian Music Industry Federation), which have always been committed to promoting a creative environment attentive to well-being and mental health.

“This approach”, explains Draoua, “was born as a bridge between psychological research and professional experience of over 20 years in France and Italy. Since 2010 I have been involved in work-related stress risk prevention and management programs in many industrial contexts. In particular, working in creative contexts I have noticed that – unlike many other disciplines where there are clear points of reference in terms of stress risk and health prevention – mental and emotional loads remain invisible and there are often more questions than answers when it comes to prevention.”

The first initiative of “Resilience Room” is a podcast that will be presented to the public in November, during the Milan Music Week: subsequently, the project will continue to develop with other cultural activities. More information is available on the site www.resilienceroom.org.
