Ty Segall: Drums and Rhythm at the Heart of New Single

The Californian musician Ty Segall publishes today “The Dance (Edit)”an instrumental single that heralds the release of “Love Rudiments“, his 15th solo album, due out on August 30th on the Drag City label.

The new work will be an instrumental album in which, as with the single released today, the drums – his first love – will be at the center, even if this means giving up the voice.

“The Dance (Edit)” is based on a “dialogue” of percussion, electronic drums, timpani, vibraphone and even xylophone, illustrated in the accompanying video by a moving sparkling heart. The repetitiveness of the song and its rhythm make it hypnotic.

Such a musical structure contrasts with the acoustic guitars and delicate vocals of Ty Segall’s double album, “Three Bells”, published last January.

The American musician will be live in Italy with two solo acoustic concerts scheduled for August 28, 2024 in Cesena (in the Acieloaperto festival) and August 29, 2024 in Setri Levante (for the Mojotic Festival).
